debris spread

debris spread
The mass movement process, associated sediments (debris spread deposit), or resultant landform characterized by a very rapid type of spread dominated by lateral movement in a soil and rock mass resulting from liquefaction or plastic flow of underlying materials that may be extruded out between intact units; sediments have substantial proportions of both fine earth and rock fragments.
